Description
Genuine BMW turbocharger air inlet sealing ring for M57 3.0L diesel engines
This is the large-diameter genuine BMW rubber sealing ring that seals the air intake ducting to the turbocharger inlet on M57 3.0 litre diesel engines. It is a critical sealing point on the intake side of the turbo — any leak here lets in unmetered air and immediately upsets fuelling and boost control.
Why replace this seal
The ring lives in a hot engine bay and hardens, shrinks and cracks over time. Common symptoms of a failed or tired inlet seal include:
- Loss of boost or sluggish power under load
- Whistling, hissing or sucking noise from the turbo inlet area
- Limp mode and boost-pressure or air-mass related fault codes
- Rough or uneven idle from unmetered air entering after the MAF sensor
- A visibly perished, split or distorted ring on removal
This is a single-use item. It should be replaced any time the turbocharger, intake ducting or air filter housing is removed — including during a turbo rebuild or an M57 engine swap. It is cheap insurance against chasing a boost leak later.

Important Notes
- Please confirm the part number against your VIN before ordering — BMW revised intake components across the M57 production run.
- Some catalogues incorrectly list this part as an intake manifold gasket or crankcase breather seal. It is the large ring seal at the turbocharger air inlet.
- Single-use item — do not reuse an old seal after disturbing the turbo inlet.
- Genuine BMW part, sold individually.
