Description
Raceworks 3 inch (76mm) stainless steel V-band flange and clamp kit, part number VBC-B-300. This is the B style kit - the flange is stepped down so your 3" pipe slides straight over the flange, giving you a self-locating joint that is far easier to line up and tack together on your own.
Everything you need for one complete V-band joint: two weld-on flanges and the stainless clamp that holds them together.
A Style or B Style - which do you need?

Most fabricators prefer the B style for turbo and exhaust work because the step holds everything square while you tack, and there is no chance of the pipe wandering off centre. If you need the butt-joint A style instead, get in touch and we will sort it out.
Why use a V-band?
- Serviceable joints. Undo one bolt and the joint separates - ideal for turbo to dump pipe, dump pipe to exhaust, or any section you need to pull off regularly.
- No gasket required. The machined faces seal against each other, so there is nothing to blow out or replace.
- Even, repeatable clamping. The band pulls the flanges together uniformly all the way around instead of loading a few bolts.
- Handles heat cycling and vibration. Far more tolerant of a hot, moving driveline than a two or three bolt flange.
- Fits where bolts won't. A single T-bolt takes up a fraction of the space of a bolted flange, which matters in a tight engine bay.
Equally at home on intercooler piping, intake plumbing and general fabrication work - anywhere you want a clean, quick-release joint.

Welding & Fitting Notes
- Slide the pipe over the step, check it is square, then tack in four spots at 12, 6, 3 and 9 o'clock. Working in opposing quarters keeps heat even and stops the flange pulling out of true.
- Let each pass cool before the next one. A warped sealing face will never seal properly no matter how hard you crank the clamp.
- Take the clamp off the joint before you weld. Heat soak into the band will distort it and it may not close correctly afterwards.
- Back-purge if you can - it keeps the inside of the joint clean and avoids sugaring on the sealing face.
- Do not overtighten the T-bolt. Snug it up, tap around the band with a soft mallet to help it seat evenly, then nip it up again. Over-torquing stretches the band and distorts the flanges.
- Run your hand around the assembled joint and make sure the band is fully seated on both flange edges the whole way around before you call it done.
